INFOMATRIX HISTORY

InfoMatrix is an international computer project competition, born from a desire to bring the world's best IT students together. The competition is not just about promoting professional excellence, it also serves to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation, through the involvement of students and teachers from many different countries. Beside other collaborators, InfoMatrix has support of the Romanian Ministry of Education Research Youths and Sports.

The first edition was held in 2003 as national contest; every year took its scale higher, more professional and proved to be one of the most important International Competitions. Numbers also show the importance of competition by reaching 390 teams from more than 33 countries in 2010. InfoMatrix spread throughout the world during the past years, achieved partnerships from Mexico to Hong Kong. We are proud to work with InfoMatrix America organized by Grupo Educare, InfoMatrix Hong Kong and InfoMatrix Ukraine. Partners all over the World are promoting InfoMatrix by organizing local InfoMatrix Competitions in which more students can find chance to compete and finally all these brilliant minds are invited to World Finals to Romania.

The 10th edition, InfoMatrix 2012, is conducted in three phases during which projects will be selected and, ultimately, the best will be awarded. For the semifinal round the teams will submit projects on the Internet. Qualified projects will be invited to Bucharest on 3-7 May 2012 to compete in the World Finals.
